HUMAN RIGHTS
Learn about one aspect of human rights and share your results on-line or on a poster-sized (22”x28”) infographic. Work by yourself or in a pair. Present your web page/infographic on exam day.

Choose one of the following topics to research and share with class
  • The Definition of Human Rights
  • The History of Human Rights
  • Rights Law: UN Declaration of Human Rights/Geneva Convention
  • The International Criminal Court
  • Human Rights Organizations: Amnesty/Human Rights Watch
  • The Death Penalty
  • Warfare and Human Rights
  • Declaration of the Rights of the Child
  • Child Soldiers
  • Human trafficking – undocumented immigration, sex workers
  • The war on terror: torture, extraordinary rendition, Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, drones
  • Gay Rights
  • Women's Rights
  • Education and Human Rights
  • Actions to take regarding human rights
  • Any other human rights related topic that you run by me for approval

Here are your wiki writing guidelines
Make a wiki, blog, tumblr, Wix, Prezi, or any web-based page, which should include at minimum:
  • 500 words of text (if it’s not your writing then you must cite where it came from)
  • 5 visuals: photographs, pictures, maps, graphs, or charts
  • 2 videos/audio (You do NOT have to make this video yourself.)
  • 2 links (in addition to the visuals, videos, and audio)
  • Cite and credit all your sources and work that you import to your wiki.
  • Please include your opinion on your topic on your page.
  • Information should be well organized and polished

Here are your infographic creating guidelines
Make a poster-sized infographic, which should include at minimum:
  • Must be at least poster size (22”x28”). Images should be visible from across the classroom.
  • 100 words of text (if it’s not your writing then you must cite where it came from)
  • 3 large (at least 8½”x 11” each) visuals: photographs, pictures, maps, graphs, or charts
  • Cite and credit all your sources and work.
  • Please include your opinion on your topic.
  • Information should be well organized and polished
